Why is Gauss significant in science history. He's acting at a time-- during which there is an anti-scientific generation in existence around Napoleon and the Newtonian school revived by LaPlace. Gauss's discovery of the asteroid Ceres was a breakthrough. The problem was not mathematical. Not a guess. But a different thinking method. He applied a different thinking method-- and demonstrated it. By showing what that thought process was, we can see how to intervene in the minds of the current popultion of today's world.

We bring science back into popular discussion. In the baby boomer generation, science has been tossed out the window and everyone talks environmentalism. Kepler told us how he thought, but Gauss didn't. How did you figure that out? -- Get inside Gauss's mind. There was a late 1700's rennaisance in Germany around Lessing and Mendelson-- Kepler, Lessing and Mendelson were in defense against empiricism-- Locke, Hobbes, Newton-- WE looked at where Gauss came from and started there and look at his problems as our problems. See how we think through it... the epistemological approach... Two processes-- how he approached the problem-- and the hegemonic view that opposed him.

The British Empire pushes empiricism because it keeps people from developing technologies-- that bring nation states out of the control of the Empire-- but it gives people a sense of their own strength and unboundedness of the potential process of humanity if such discoveries are made. The key intent in British empiricims is to stop people from thinking in that way. The Promethean principle. It's a way of dumbing people down.

This is the doom of the Empire at the same time because it stops discoveries.

The basement is organizing the population to understand science again... radio@larouchepub.com... larouchepac.com.... Science is not just ivory tower stuff-- it affects people in every way in society-- and interacts with it. Gauss kept a notebook-- he jots down a new discovery-- and lays out the directions he goes-- he didn't go public til 1799-- laid the foundations-- recieved poorly at Paris Academy... All the scientists were confused with the orbit of Ceres-- out of nowhere, Gauss publishes his treatise-- and nailed it-- so he became famous across Europe-- his method wasn't revealed-- but did it-- through 1802-- he kept determining the orbits and didn't tell anyone how-- he became really popular fast in the middle of the Napoleonic empire... he freaked out about being public...

Kepler was different... New Astronomy, Nuvo Mundi-- Kepler published the beginning. the problem-- and then the challenges and solutions to future scientists. Gauss is different. He published his discoveries but not like Kepler. He posed the end of Keplers book-- the discoveries-- the first part would be an acceptable blackboard derivation-- for an empiricist. A pure mathemeticain or college student today-- because he says he could have done proofs-- but skips it... Finally in his astronomy text book-- he has how YOU calculate Ceres' orbit in 5 ways.. but it's still weird... all the mechanics terms are there, but Gauss doesn't use them...

So how do we study Gause's mind today-- through New Astronomy-- ? why not use formulas? Because you can't determine what a scientic discovery is... The Copernican Revoluition by Kuhn compared to Gauss-- history of science professors like Kuhn look at science-- they rearrange the furniture-- and say that's a revolution-- but with Kepler there's something completely different in the way the problem is appraoched... the epistemology of the apporach is revolutionary... A quality of knowledge... never before shown to exist...

Kepler, Gauss, Leibnitz-- discoveres are not just equations-- but how you think about how man interacts with the universse, and how man is capable of knowing. This is the epsitemology of the approach-- not just a new technology. The goal of scientific work is finding universal principles-- and then to transmit them-- crucial.. The basement is engaged in a mystery-- Gauss was not clear on his method-- what was he was actually thinking?

Biquadritic residues-- 1832-- Gauss goes through x to 4th power math-- a maze of theorums-- no patterns-- unless complex numbers introduced into arithmetic-- but must look at complex numbers from geometry-- fraud to talk about number lines-- you can't count to a complex number and give them equal rights-- a new mode of determination-- Nothing was new-- complex numbers were used before-- geometry was used before-- people ran into the problem before... Gauss said we need to revolutionize magnitude-- what were the implications of that... full fruition in Reimann 1854, anti-Euclidian geometry...

Kastner intervened in Leibnitz and Gauss... German satirist... epigrams... Bach, Leibnitz-- contemporaries-- cultural rennaissance-- They tried to make German a scientific language-- German wasn't even spoken at the palace in Germany-- He recruited a movement that preserved science through the empirical limits-- How did Gauss make Germany scientific-- Kastner defined the curriculum...

German wasn't a language amendable to science until the 1800s-- which is interesting in itself. Gauss had that problem. The next group in the basement will continue Gauss through student Reimann-- but you have to know what he sought-- so you have to know Gauss-- so people have to be brought to seminars detailing all of Gauss... when you teach a class that wouldn't come out when you write a pedagogical... train the next group to go into Reimann and the next teachers of Gauss...

This develops the history of science from its origins. You can't understand science without understanding who the people were that made the discoveries. You can't separate the people from the discoveres. Science is disconnected from individals from today. Gaus is called the prince of math-- but he's not studied in math depts these days... The biographies of Gauss avoid the issues. They're superfluous. They never get at what people need to investigate- which is how Gauss thought.

Some people have read Franklins' autobio or James Fennemore cooper-- but its not promoted. A dark age is when history is non-exisntent-- the original dark age was after the murder of Archimedes and then in the 14th c... Cusa and the Pythagoreans-- on astrophysics-- that was neccessary to how Guass thought-- the tools he uses are all of humanities... Kepler harkens to Cusa and Pythagorus-- the arithmetic is Pythagorean-- he revives-- them... makes it alive for the culture again.. we need to make all of human civilization alive for people today.. the history of mankind as a whole is a tragedy because you have brief moments where there are schools that grow up around one person and have to fight... against the popular opinion...

We have the potential for a new era now... This has to go beyond a small cadre... How to get to a population that uses wiki, computers and the net-- How do you get people to understand profound conceptions... We circulate the methods-- we're at the edge of the worst dark age the planet has ever seen... when Bernanky cut interest rates-- Lyn came down and said-- these guys are crazy- it's hyperinflationary-- we need a pedagogical device to communicate that... Gauss was halted-- and we looked at Germany hyperinflation.. Lyn's idea was from Gauss-- dig into the meat of hyperinflation... there were axioms flying around-- money was printed-- too much-- it's not that simple-- the axioms-- and the principles-- the triple curve-- when you cut production of basic infrastructure and capital investment and increase monetary emission and the debt you pay back-- that's the recipe for blowout...

Peter... Germany 1923-- Bernanke-- Paulson-- European Central Bank-- the triple curve-- not a separate set of curves-- increasing financial curve is built on top of the physical economy-- decline-- there is a physical cause.. economics is not a statistical game-- there are physical principles... The 80 min. documentary FIREWALL-- it goes through the breakdown of the financial system... The British oligarchy imposed fasicsm on Germany-- Hitler was imposed on Germany by Britain-- he didn't spring out of Germany-- DVD... purcahse it... call in and contribute-- call 800 929 7566... PAC--

The destruction of science by discovery of principles has been parlleled by the digital age that creates zombies and terrorists. FDR died and then-- the British were running an operation before WWII-- there was work being done in computing to determine trajectories to figure where to aim-- big number crunch.. Vannevar Bush worked on analog computeres-- but the Brisith were pushing digital systems... Weiner became head of this-- all analog computers were shut down because digital systems are black boxes-- you can't see the system-- this alien black box is in your house and tells you how to think-- so we have a culture where you can't get a job-- you're not being told how the universe works-- the computers tell syou how to think-- your school sucks so you can't tell what's true or not...

Sky Sheilds is a new star in the Larouche community-- they're working on an analog computer-- no progress... experiments planned... Sky's article states how to build a machine that will draw a transcendentail curve-- we went into a machine shop to make a machine to plot a log curve-- they denied him-- Sky instrucst how to draw an exponential curve using an analog computer. Is the devil in your laptop. 800 929 7566

Campus work. Harvard. Stanford. UTexas. Geoergetown. You can tell if you work is good or not from protest squawks. The kepler work was hijacked-- more repsonses from people? -- Human cattle in digital space... Wired magazine-- one of the attacks-- the digital suicide culture is being promoted by Wired-- halo 3 is wonderful because you can commit suicide and get relief-- LRouche attacked it-- and laughed at the attack... Tyrannies cannot last-- there is a limit.

Bring epistemology to the population-- larouche's policies-- HBPA crucial-- the ONLY way out-- becaues if the population can't think scientifically then the policy based on scientific thinking cannot be sustained-- The policies by LR are not just policy but based on principle, how the mind works, how the human species survives, to shape the policy-- the people who make the policy-- and the people who carry it out have to understand the principle... and be scientific policy makers themselves... we have to create a scientific population. That's the basis of a real republic.

What's missing from society-- a sense of collaboration... progress of all humanity... we need to get that sense out into the organization-- part of what Reimann is going to promote-- as well as the content-- wathc how we interact... Our society has devoleved to Hobbes-- the expression of man is to struggle against all other men-- colloboration must work for the benefit of the other-- how all scientific disocvery works... Peter-- people are not inspired by ideas but fads-- my space or bands... fads wear off... but ideas have a quality of immortaty-- that's power and that's how you change society.. put ideas of principle into the population and it becomes imprinted deeper.
