JESUS CHRIST-- 01-- Historiography-- did he exist?

Did Jesus Christ actually exist? Here's a line of thought that examines that.

[+] A list of Roman Emperors... one of which-- Augustus-- lived on th Isle of Capris, as I understand it-- I think-- and who gave the order to Pontius Pilate, the provincial ruler of Judea at the time.

[+] The Roman Emporer Augustus-- is regarded as a more important emperor-- and is listed first-- in these lists of emporers, which strikes me as odd-- I never studied Roman history per se-- and here we find that he's listed first-- he reigned at the presumed time of JC.

GNOSTICS-- Laoruche rejects gnosticism... yet when I look at gnosticism, I see some elements of the possibility of the literal reality of the miracles of Jesus-- miracles being like magic-- and magic being nothing more than advanced technology. Larouche rejects the possibility that Jesus was an ancient super-astronaut-- that the miracles were recorded instead to impress people-- I guess. Larouche is a Christian Humanist-- and so am I-- I simply look at the Gnostic/astronaut side of things for fun-- because it's actually... well... fun. If WWIII wasn't breathing down our backs, it would be lots of fun.

SUPREME GOD vs. CREATOR OF THE WORLD-- Interestingly, the Gnostics made a distinction between the Supreme God and the Creator of the World-- This is fascinating to ME because in my interpretaion of Ancient Astronauts and Bible UFO's, it makes perfect sense. I've been considering a Universal or Ultimate God- as a completely DIFFERENT element than the "Jehohva" or "Yaway" guy in the Old Testament... The CREATOR God seems more like an Ancient Astronaut-- YOu can see for youself in Genesis that God says "Let US make man in OUR image"-- as though they are alien beings.

I can easily SET GNOSITICISM aside-- for all practical purposes-- because the ancient astronauts are not listed in the yellow pages-- none of them survived-- and if they did, they don't advertise. So, for practical purpose, I think we're left alone on the planet. My comment
Augustus is said to have ruled from BC 31 to AD 14.

These dates are from the Gregorian calendar that was only developed later-- around AD 500. It's still hard to say what the Roman calendar was at the time... I used to know-- but I never did get to where I could cross reference calendars. Jesus was ostensibly murdered at age 33-- so Tiberius would have been the emperor at the time. Certainly the Bible refers to Pontious Pilate who actually exists...

JESUS ARRIVES JUST IN TIME?-- How is it that the first of the Roman Emperors-- Julius Ceasar-- isn't listed in the list of emperors? He was born-- acc. to the Greg. calendar, BC 100-- [+] and Rome is thought to be still a Republic at that time-- Rome the city having been founded by Remus and Romulus around 700 BC...

ROME A REBUBPLIC under CEASAR JULIUS? -- It's hard to think of Rome as a Republic under Julius-- since the operational configuration of Rome was more like an Empire. It was set up with presumed Senators but it didn't operated for the people-- based on ideas of Athens-- so i think it's mistake in history to say Rome was a republic at any time--

CHRISTIANITY-- is a political idea-- so the historiography of Jesus himself is a secondary point
it's quite clear that the idea of Christianity-- is an easier concept to establish than the historicity of Jesus-- although there are ways to show that the historical Jesus existed. We still have to distinguish between the historocity of Jesus and the historoctiy of the miracles-- which could NOT have actually take place-- despite the idea promulgated that Christianty depends on belief in the resurrection-- as roman CAtholics say it does- I don't think it does-- there's the Achilles heel of the whole program... because the ESSENCE of Christianity does NOT revolve around Jesus ascending as he did-- that was a metaphor in Christian Humanism.

TIBERIUS-- The second Roman emperor-- after Augustus reorganized Rome as an offical empire-- was Tiberius who Larouche says ordered the execution of Jesus

I grew up in a RC home, church and school-- and all I can say is these questions have been covered up. Even the protestants who do bible study have been anti-intellectuals-- JehovahWitnesses are more interesting-- but they have limits I've tested too. The question of the Maji is a case in point. Only the ancient astronaut theory holds weight for me now-- The fact that the Maji had to go to Herod to find Jesus-- and lost track of the star-- is very interesting-- pertaining to Bible UFO's.... and today's Majestic 12-- Maji-- network deals in suppression of aliens.
