Mark posted a positive report on Dawkins in his blog-- a notice of Dawkins book about God-- [+]

God is synonymous with "higher order principles"-- in many ways-- and so Dawkins and Mark are basically saying there are no higher order universal principles-- which is patently false. The God-concept has to be updated to counter act this because it's not a bad concept. Of course, there are abuses of the God-concept but abuse of an idea is not an argument against proper use and proper understanding of the concept.

I say "concept" because it seems to me that we have to initiate discussion on that level-- the concept level-- before we can say definitively anything suggesting the actual physical existence of a concious personal space-time over-ride super-entity called God. The first question to examine in a re-examination of God for the 21st century is "how would we know if God existed or not?".

Another angle on God that is being suppressed and that Mark has never looked at is the ancient astronaut god theory. I think the concept of powerful aliens who earlier man thought of as god could be a possibility. Here's a blogger on that [+] and heres's Google blogsearch on it... [+] It's not silly to look at this-- there are very weird things written in the Bible-- and Christians don't deal with it other than to call these phenomena "miracles"-- which could very well be high tech.
