ALCOR-- democracy-- Dave Pizer

Dave Pizer is posting to Cryonet [+] regarding Alcor's situation-- it's significant. From a Christian Humanist point of view, I'm not sure how we see that foray-- other than to look at the history of representation of people vs. ruling sets of people-- and certainly I think it can be said that some sort of representative democratic repblican form of government of ANYTHING, including bodies like Alcor-- is a good thing.

I haven't given democracy at Alcor much thought-- but given Dave's foray here-- I might start thinking about it more this coming "semester". I guess I would begin with the idea of what are the existing "checks and balances" in Alcor right now? Most Alcor members are anti-Christian transhumanists, I believe, so that's a problem from my perspective being a Christain Humanist who reads every issue of Lyndon Larouche's EIR magazine. [+]. I would urge all cryonicists to consider looking at THAT "before" you look at Alcor's sitaution because without that larger frame-- that context-- you can't solve the problems in anything. The ChristianHumanist perspective is counterthetical to the TransHumanist persective.. and offers an entirely different outlook on cryonics.

As for HOW Dave goes about his mission, I would say that he would be more effective by using an alphabetical keyword blog. I can help him do that... for a fair fee of course.
