I can't tell for sure when Merkle, an alcor board member, wrote the article on the self-perpetuating board. It appears as though its absolutely hot off the press! [+] It appears to have been posted to Alcor's internal archive pages without public notice and it remained with someone on the ColdFilter-- a threaded forum inspired by Cryonics Cafe created by me to get away from the old fashined Cryonet newsgroup-- [+].

It's rather funny to see the board "vote" down an intention to democratize itself-- since it can only, by definition, do THAT. It's kind of a funny paradox--

MY COMMENT-- In other words, the Dictatorship has deemed Democracy of no interest. Ha ha.... what did Dave expect??? My view is that the "dictatorship" is locked in. That's how Alcor has always run... and any attempt by any member-- especially a relatively wealthy member like Dave, can only be viewed as an attack on the integrity of Alcor. My personal opinoin has never been strong one way or another on this-- since I'm more concerend about the INTEGRITY of the USA-- if the USA crashes-- and we do NOT take up Larouches's platform, NO CRYONICS organization let along CIVILIZATION will survive.

For now, what I view as the significant feature of this exchange is the fact that for the first time in a long time, a board member responded to noise in the crowd. I'd like to see the board members respond more OFTEN in this way so that we can all be reassured that someone is "home".
