Piano problems continue-- almost overwhelming.

Looks like I'm going to preoccupied with a piano this week-- have to fix it because it's not sounding good. Long story but I don't want to describe it here-- it's something I try to get away from when I'm on the net.

[+] Here's a moving diagram of what I'm trying to fix-- I've gone through several technicians already-- and just got a new one-- its unbelievable-- but I think this is my karmic punishment for dealing with the digital world too much since what we see here-- although it's a digital representation-- is what Larouche means by working in the analog world. There are 25 moving parts on each key-- I've never had to deal with this before-- now I'm confronted with it through circumstance.

[+] Actually what I'm working with is this version of a piano key.-- a grand "action"...

[+] Here's a moving picture of the grand action-- doesn't look like much-- and it doesn't look like much could go wrong but I'm having to dive deeper into the thing-- zen-like-- and deal with people along the way-- who don't articulate things very well-- the semantic frame has to be built-- and the ability to transfer thoughts between inarticulate people on important technical matters-- puts me in a position of a little bit of hell on earth.

ON top of the mechanical problems, there are continuing humidity changes that cause problems-- and the astonishing inability to tell if the dehumidifier heating bars go inside or outside the piano. it's crazy. Those are just a few of things that I'll be dealing with in detail this week-- so it's unlikely I'll be posting much. This blog is bascially set up now the way I want it anyway-- and I'll continue when I sense I have control of the piano back... which might be never-- the way it's going. No wonder Liberace took his own piano where ever he played concerts. Can't trust anyone else's piano. Good thing Carnegie Hall isn't in Phoenix-- because the piano technicians here are um... well-- ugh.
