CRYONICS-- Alcor-- Last minute case-- 101 yr old

[+] Here is ColdFilter discussion on the Alcor case of the 101 or 102 yr old woman. When I first saw that item, here was my concern-- directly related to last minute cases--

AT first, it appears as though the woman is a member. Here's the Alcor blog post-- just read the first paragraph. [+] Now from that, you would think-- "Oh!-- a member was preserved!".... however this is NOT the case. The next paragraph says it was "last minute"-- as FD points out in the Cold Filter post linked above... and last minute cases are apparently "very lucrative" according to an Alcor official I spoke to several years ago.... and I never understood why they're "more lucrative" than regular insured member cases.

As far as the "membership" goes-- the blog post isn't clear that membership might have been either imposed without the "member" knowing it-- or was done at "the last minute"-- somehow. This is essential to figure out for the future of cryonics and Alcor-- and the current black box situation won't allow research on this very easily. The current board cancelled the director electorate bylaw only last year, 2007-- and Pizer dropped his pursuit of the democratic board issue despite having pushed it strongly in Jan Feb 08. Now we face the destruction of the USA by Bloomberg-- so all this has to wait until after the victory of clinton.
