News of the recent Lifepact conference at Asilmar is containeed elsewhere in this issue. As usual there were plenty of thought provoking ideas introduced both by speakers and in priavte discussions. David Pizer discussed a number of ideas, which some might consider unrealistic dreams. Dave envisions the day when the cryonics community will have its own retirement homes, rest homes, and even a University. Mr. Pizer see the Venturists as establishing these as part ofa n immortalist community. Few in the ACS would disagree that all these things will someday become reality, and would welcome initiative by the Veenturists to bring them about. Few ACS members would disagree with those who see these develeopments whether or not the Venturists work on them.

We have always dreams great dreams. Many will recall the ending to an early slide show developed by TT that pictures what appears to be an interplanetary space ship bearing the TT logo.

Quite a number o immortalists have will sizable sums of money to cryonics orgs. Gosh guys that's good of you but we could sure use some of it now. Someday we'll own the world or at least enough of it to make these dreams a reality. Looking even further into the future, we may well own several worlds.

MY comment... Looks like whoever wrote this (theres' no byline) was being politely cynical. I guess the cynicism was well placed because Dave shelved Ventureville in Feb. 2008. We never came close to cryonics university... Dave said there was "no interest" in the idea-- when all along I was thinking that he was simply going to "build it and they would come". His recent ads on Cryonet regardng the sale of property next to Mayer appeared on Cryonet a few times and that was it-- it was over.

I would say that the concept of Futurevillle Living Trust that I'm working on-- in the idea stage right now-- might be able to pick up where VV left off.
