BLOGOLOGY-- 06-- widening and narrowing focus

CADC, a cryonics group that doesn't want me talking about cryonics here, alongside other topics I find interesting, is attempting to force me to create a separate blog for cryonics. I don't want to do that. And yet I DO want a separate blog for piano lessons. How can I explain that? The answer lies in directing attention of readers to wider scopes or narrower scopes.

For the purpose of teaching piano, I absolutely need my students to narrow their focus and so cutting out the noise of the world is useful. On the other hand, cryonicists are generally too narrowly scoped to begin with, and generally refuse to widen their scope. Therefore, when a cryonicist clicks onto this blog, I assist them in doing what they don't seem to want to do themselves-- widen out. The narrow-scope people in cryonics are way ahead of me-- such as the blog done by DeWolfs-- called "depressed metabolism"-- and narrow-scope topics can be worked in here as well.

The only narrow-scope subtopics in cryonics I might do a separate blog for is Cryonics Investigative Journal-- but I'm going to have to find other contributors... to butress myself against the blowback that might come from that. The investigative method is important to be lined up-- and we'll have to examine epistemology-- and absolutely refrain from my favorite manner of speaking-- hurling insults, as a way to frame my useful content. In general, that's a bad way to talk to people-- insulting them, then telling them the content, then insulting them again. That's the opposite of what I learend in sales-- to compliment someone, then deal with the trouble, then compliment them again. Someday I'll do it that way. Maybe today!
